How I use the Best Writing Apps for SmartPhones
The way I write my fiction has changed a lot over the years, and as the title of this blog post says, I now write on my SmartPhone using Apps. I’ll go into my favourite ones in this article, but first:
Where did it all start?
In the very beginning, I wrote my stories in the classroom. While all the kids played in the sandpit or toy house, I preferred to make my own “books”. Stacking up pieces of paper, folding the stack in half, and getting the teachers to staple everything together. I even illustrated my stories and showed them off to the teachers.
My family weren’t too interested, though. Sigh.
When I thought I was too old for that, I used my class books to write my stories. You see, at the end of the academic year, we got to take home all our writing books and I used the leftover blank pages at the end to write my fiction.
Waste not, want not.
I was obsessed with fairies and witches, and they were the stars of most of my “books”. As I got older, I preferred to write contemporary stories and started my first novel at the age of 12 or 13, I think. I used the old books from school and a pencil.
Once we invested in a family computer, I transcribed that novel into MS Word. That…
